{"id":781,"date":"2020-07-01T07:53:23","date_gmt":"2020-07-01T07:53:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/girishmehta.com\/projects\/quant\/?post_type=news_room&#038;p=781"},"modified":"2020-07-04T06:57:35","modified_gmt":"2020-07-04T06:57:35","slug":"quant-network-and-sia-successfully-tested-blockchain-interoperability","status":"publish","type":"news_room","link":"https:\/\/girishmehta.com\/projects\/quant\/news_room\/quant-network-and-sia-successfully-tested-blockchain-interoperability\/","title":{"rendered":"Quant Network and SIA Successfully Tested Blockchain Interoperability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">London and Milan, 24 June 2020<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Quant Network<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">, a leading pioneer in enterprise blockchain technology, and\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">SIA<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">, European hi-tech company leader in the fields of payment services and infrastructures and a subsidiary of CDP Equity, have<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0successfully tested cross blockchain interoperability between multiple Distributed Ledger Technology protocols.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The breakthrough was achieved by integrating\u00a0<strong>Quant Network\u2019s Overledger technology<\/strong>\u00a0(the world\u2019s only DLT operating system that allows interoperability) into the\u00a0<strong>SIAchain<\/strong>\u00a0private blockchain infrastructure leveraging on 580 European network nodes within SIAnet (the fiber optic network with high-speed and low-latency stretching over 208,000 kilometres).<\/p>\n<p>This integration provides the\u00a0<strong>ability to bridge permissioned blockchain instances between SIAchain and other external networks<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 which could not be previously connected \u2013 in order to have\u00a0<strong>cross-platform applications and services<\/strong>\u00a0covering for example notarisation, payments and KYC.<\/p>\n<p>The development of the solution began in mid-2019 and a full program of testing has been executed on\u00a0<strong>SIAchain, R3 Corda and private Ethereum platforms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Quant Network and SIA will now work together\u00a0<strong>to go to the market developing and implementing further innovative use cases and applications<\/strong>\u00a0addressing blockchain interoperability challenges.<\/p>\n<p>This important milestone is the result of a\u00a0<strong>partnership launched between Quant Network and SIA<\/strong>\u00a0that allows\u00a0<strong>mostly banks and financial institutions \u2013 through the SIAChain infrastructure \u2013 to adopt cross-platform and interoperable blockchain solutions<\/strong>\u00a0and to embrace new business models, improve operational efficiencies and deliver innovation to banking customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The partnership between Quant Network and SIA has been extremely positive and productive from the very start,<\/em>\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Gilbert Verdian, CEO, Quant Network<\/strong>, \u201c<em>and both companies are confident that this development will play an integral part in building the financial infrastructure of the future globally.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe achievement of a fully interoperable blockchain network, through our collaboration with Quant Network, is another key-element in our path of bringing innovation and state-of-the-art technologies for supporting banks, financial institutions, corporates and public administration bodies to extend their capabilities in integrating different DLT business applications\u201d\u00a0<\/em>said\u00a0<strong>Daniele Savar\u00e8, Innovation &amp;
