{"id":94,"date":"2019-06-05T16:02:27","date_gmt":"2019-06-05T16:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/girishmehta.com\/projects\/quant\/?post_type=news_room&#038;p=94"},"modified":"2020-07-11T12:57:01","modified_gmt":"2020-07-11T12:57:01","slug":"sia-partners-with-quant-network-to-explore-innovative-solutions-in-blockchain-interoperability-for-banks-and-financial-institutions","status":"publish","type":"news_room","link":"https:\/\/girishmehta.com\/projects\/quant\/news-room\/sia-partners-with-quant-network-to-explore-innovative-solutions-in-blockchain-interoperability-for-banks-and-financial-institutions\/","title":{"rendered":"SIA partners with Quant Network to explore innovative solutions in blockchain interoperability for banks and financial institutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>The partnership agreement aims to integrate the SIAchain infrastructure into Quant Network\u2019s blockchain operating system Overledger to develop and implement blockchain and DLT based applications spanning different technologies.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Milan and London, 05 June 2019<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<strong>SIA<\/strong>, the leading European hi-tech company in the payment services and infrastructures sector, and\u00a0<strong>Quant Network<\/strong>, a UK-based pioneering technology company, have signed a partnership agreement\u00a0<strong>to explore blockchain interoperability<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>the creation of agnostic cross-platform applications and services<\/strong>\u00a0for banks and financial institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The first interoperability tests will be executed on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.r3.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>R3\u2019s Corda<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and private\u00a0<strong>Ethereum<\/strong>\u00a0platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership aims to\u00a0<strong>integrate<\/strong>\u00a0Quant Network\u2019s blockchain operating system\u00a0<strong>Overledger<\/strong>\u00a0into the\u00a0<strong>SIAchain infrastructure<\/strong>\u00a0to enable interoperability,\u00a0<strong>one of the biggest challenges<\/strong>\u00a0and unmet needs faced by the financial industry to develop and implement blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology based applications spanning different technologies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SIAchain<\/strong>\u00a0is a private infrastructure leveraging on\u00a0<strong>570 European network nodes within SIAnet<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the fiber optic network with high-speed and low-latency stretching over 186,000 kilometres \u2013 that supports\u00a0<strong>financial institutions, corporates and public administration bodies<\/strong>\u00a0in developing and implementing, in a secure, protected way,\u00a0<strong>innovative applications based on blockchain technology.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The SIAchain infrastructure makes available a series of business applications to meet the requirements of specific\u00a0<strong>communities \u2013 guaranteed by SIA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 of registered, approved members,\u00a0<strong>in a context of transparency, confidentiality and security.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSince the European launch of our private infrastructure SIAchain, we are at the forefront of innovation in blockchain technology with the aim of supporting financial markets with a high-performance and secure architecture and a clear governance model.
